Managing Director

I was born and raised in the shadow of Mount Kilimanjaro. Growing up here taught me discipline, resilience, and the value of steady work. My background is in procurement, accounting, and education. For several years, I worked as an assistant lecturer, building a strong foundation in structure and responsibility. At Wabi Sabi Africa, I focus on creating smooth operations behind every journey — so the experience feels effortless and grounded. Movement and travel keep me balanced. Curiosity keeps me learning. Rooted in Tanzania. Building for the long term.

Managing Director

I grew up on the slopes of Mount Kilimanjaro, where nature was never separate from daily life. For more than six years, I have been guiding safaris and mountain expeditions across Tanzania — from Kilimanjaro and Mount Meru to Serengeti, Ngorongoro and Tarangire. Every landscape carries its own rhythm, and I still enter the wild with the same respect I learned as a child. I believe in moving gently — leaving no trace and protecting what allows us to experience these places at all. Birds, wildlife, plants, culture — I love sharing the details most people might otherwise miss. I look forward to welcoming you to Tanzania.

Safari Guide

I was born and raised in Arusha, surrounded by the landscapes I now guide through every day. Growing up here gave me a deep connection to the wildlife, the rhythms of the land, and the cultures that shape Northern Tanzania. For over five years, I have been guiding safaris across East Africa, sharing insights into animal behavior, ecology, and the small details that make each sighting meaningful. I have a special passion for birds and enjoy helping guests see more than they expected. I speak fluent German and English, and I care deeply about conservation — because protecting this land is part of guiding it. I look forward to exploring it with you.

Safari Guide

I was born and raised in Arusha, where my journey in tourism began in the camps of the Serengeti. What started in hospitality grew into a deeper calling to guide. Since 2018, I have focused on professional tour guiding and further training in wildlife management and mountain guiding. Wilderness skills and first aid are an essential part of my work — especially in the highlands around Kilimanjaro. I speak Swahili and English fluently, and conversational German. I am proud to be part of Wabi Sabi Africa and look forward to supporting you on the trail and in the wild.

Safari Guide

I was born and raised in the Kilimanjaro region and have been guiding for the past three years. After completing my studies at Tropical College in Arusha, I began working in English before focusing exclusively on guiding in German. The landscapes of the Northern Circuit are more than destinations to me — they are stories shaped by geology, wildlife, and the people who have lived here for generations. I enjoy connecting these layers, helping guests understand not only what they see, but how it came to be. Geography, history, ecology, culture — each journey is an opportunity to explore them together. I look forward to guiding you through Tanzania.

Safari Guide

I was born and raised in Maasai land in Arusha, where the connection between people, wildlife, and land is part of everyday life. For more than eight years, I have been guiding safaris across Northern Tanzania — including Serengeti, Ngorongoro Crater, and Lake Manyara. Growing up within Maasai culture allows me to share not only the wildlife, but also the traditions and stories that shape this region. Each journey is personal to me. I guide with respect, awareness, and a deep sense of responsibility for the land we move through. I look forward to welcoming you into it.

Mountain & Safari Guide

I was born and raised in the Kilimanjaro region. My journey in the mountains began as a porter, where I learned strength, resilience, and deep respect for the routes we walk today. Over the past four years, I have guided both mountain climbs and safaris, supporting guests in reaching their goals safely and confidently. I am a certified Wilderness First Responder, committed to the health, safety, and well-being of every client. I speak English and French fluently, allowing me to guide international travelers from around the world. The mountains continue to teach me patience and perspective — and I am grateful to share that experience with you.

Safari Guide

I was born and raised in Tanzania’s Mbeya region and have been guiding safaris across Northern Tanzania for more than eight years. Growing up close to nature shaped my respect for wildlife and the ecosystems we depend on. I studied at the College of African Wildlife Management in Mweka and continued my training in wilderness experience and field guiding. Today, I combine that foundation with years of practical experience in tracking wildlife, identifying bird species, and sharing the cultural and natural history of this region. Each safari is an opportunity to look closer — and to understand more. I look forward to guiding you through Tanzania.

Safari & Mountain Culture Guide

I was born into the Chaga community at the foothills of Mount Kilimanjaro. I look forward to welcoming you to Tanzania.

Mountain Guide

My name is Robert Thoya Masha. I was born and raised on the slopes of Mount Meru, not far from Mount Kilimanjaro. Growing up between these mountains shaped my respect for nature, community, and steady perseverance. My journey began as a porter on Kilimanjaro while studying tourism — carrying loads, learning the rhythm of the mountain, and observing experienced guides. Step by step, with patience and dedication, I progressed into guiding. Over the past eleven years, I have led more than 180 successful summits. I feel deeply connected to this mountain. Each route carries its own character, and while I appreciate the beauty of Lemosho, what matters most to me is that every climber feels safe, supported, and confident throughout the journey. I guide with professionalism, care, and gratitude — always remembering that the summit is only one part of something much greater. The summit is a moment — the journey is what stays.

Senior Mountain Guide

Born and raised in East Africa, I have spent more than two decades guiding on Tanzania’s highest peaks and remote landscapes. The mountains have shaped my life — and guiding has become both my profession and responsibility. From the summit of Kilimanjaro to the highlands surrounding Ngorongoro, I have led thousands of climbers over the years. Experience has taught me that strength alone is not enough — preparation, calm leadership, and attention to detail are what truly carry a team to the top. My work is supported by ongoing professional training and certifications, including:• Mountaineering Emergency First Aid (2012)• High Altitude Medicine Skills (2018)• COVID-19 SOPs, First Aid & Road Safety (2020)• Leave No Trace Outdoor Ethics (2021)• CPR – American Heart Association Guidelines (2021) These are not just certificates on paper — they reflect my commitment to safety, ethical guiding, and respect for the mountain environment. I guide with patience, experience, and steady leadership — knowing that every expedition is built on trust. With respect for the mountain and care for every climber, I guide each step with purpose.

Mountain Cook

I bring experience and care to the mountain kitchen, where nourishment becomes part of the journey. Having worked extensively in high-altitude environments, I understand the importance of balanced meals that restore strength and comfort after long trekking days. My approach to cooking combines skill, preparation, and attention to detail — ensuring every dish is both satisfying and thoughtfully prepared. On the mountain, food is more than a meal. It is energy, morale, and a moment of warmth shared together.
